This year my classroom and me have read and dependend the poem Shemà.
This poem was written by Primo Levi, after the second world war.
Primo Levi was a Jewish Italian poet and experienced the concentration camps.
The poem reporting his personal thoughts and feelings.
He talks about the orrors of nazism of man who worked from morning tonight and
about women sterilized, like animals, so that they couldn’t give life to new Jewis-
born.
I was impressed by the image of empty, and I felt really sad thinking about those
Jewis children’s scared-eyes!
Poem has the purpouse of making use remember and warn us about the future
generations of the genocide of the Jews.
In addition makes us think that what happened years ago could happen today and we
must not mistakes made in the past strangely, from my young point of view, we are
somehow returning to situations that led to the genocide, everyday thousand of
immigrants are rejectred and driven out of our country.
We must be careful not to make the fast come back. We must not feel in danger with
people who are “differnt” from us. We must not permit to fake news to feel in our
hearts and our minds.
Remember the past. Remember what is Shoa. Do not forget.
