di Matilde Canepa – IIIA Who of us lives in a dirty house? Have you ever thought that the earth  is exactly like our home? So then it is our duty to keep it clean. Keeping the environment clean doesn’t just mean having extra work to think about, it means giving safety to all endangered animals, it also means safeguarding all future generations and the entire ecosystem. Not all of us consider that a polluted environment today will cause many problems for the next generations, we will all be destined to live an uncertain future if we do not do something. Greta Thunberg is a  young  girl, she is only sixteen, who is  fighting to make people understand the importance of this situation. Together with her, some famous people such as Leonardo Di Caprio, Brad Pitt and Emma Watson are contributing  with donations and books in order to raise  awareness of  the proper respect that each one of us must have for the environment. But all this is not enough, we all have to work together. The earth is calling us, it is warning us that it is about to give  up, just look at the decimation of life in the Great Barrier Reef, the burning of the Amazon forest, the melting of the polar icecaps, the creation of plastic islands as big as an entire continent. We are destroying our home, and we are also destroying the lives of many living beings with whom we share the planet. The problem is that not everyone is aware of the fact that it could be already late to help our polluted  environment. We do not realize that the probable difficulties of the “future generations” of which we speak so much about, is all our fault. Today we are paying the consequences of pollution and in the future things could be worse. We must rebel against all those who do not want to consider  the precarious situation in which we live.
